download World.zip here - it's free.

Is it Free ?

Yes, this program is free and maybe freely distributed in its original form (world.zip with 3 files total), if no profit is made from it. If you'd like to send me some reimbursment for the coding, or like to push the development of this and like programs, send an email to tiger7g@yahoo.com to retrieve my current address and you can send me a check. I'm also setting up an account on www.kagi.com so you can support me with VISA and such methods.

How to use it ?

The program is straight forward. Just install world.prc on your Palm Pilot. It will ask multiple choice questions. The units for area are square kilometers (metric units). You can go to the menu and choose Options to question you only on capitals for instance, or choose capitals and population, but not area, whatever you like.

History

I first wrote this program when I was 12 in GWBasic and learnt all capitals, areas, population and currencies in about 3 days. That was a lot of playing. I rewrote it in Pascal and C later, but didn't like it. Finally, I scripted it using Perl and JavaScript and put it on my web-page. But the JavaScript didn't work on all machines - that's quite annoying (Java was too slow). I rewrote it for Palm OS, and I like it that way. Send me your high scores, comments, questions, missing features, like levels, or other information to tiger7g@yahoo.com. Thanks. By the way, I still know all capitals, areas and populations, you can really suck that information up this way. Have fun, I hope you'll be faster than I am one day.....

Future

I would like to include a browse option that will give you various information about different countries. Compress the data and feature more data. But hey, I've got to finish school, too, so it might not be that fast.
